Can anyone tell me what all I need to change out to 4.10 gears? I mean I'm gonna buy the ring a pinion, but I didn't know if anything else in the rear end needed to be changed out or not to support that kinda change. I have a '03 GT 5 spd., its still stock right now. Can anyone lemme know?

TIA

IM sure the shop thats youre going to get them installed at will have everything thats needed. If youre doing it yourself then an installation kit depending on how many miles you got on your stang. If its less than 10k im sure all youll need are the shims.

I'm still runnin' the stock gears right now. 'Bout how much does it cost to have a shop install these? Trying to decide if it would be worth having the shop just do it or spending the extra for an install kit and saving a little bit of money. Also, I was lookin' at 4.10s on some site, I forget which one, and it said that I would need a modified cross shaft -- do I need that too?

No. You don't need a modified cross-shaft.
I saw that too. It is a misprint.
I installed my 4.10's myself with my Dad.
I got the ring/pinion, install kit, and inner/outer pinion bearings.
I only had 19k mikes but figured might as well change the bearings while i'm in there.
Bit of a tough job, need micrometer and depth gauge.
We did a perrrrrrfect job.
