Today, I had my FM 4:10 gears put in. What a difference.I'd reccomend this gear to anyone who DOESN'T DO MUCH HIGHWAY DRIVING. Around town it's decent. No complaints. Gets the job done.

As well as the gear, I put in my Hooker shorties, bassani X pipe w/o cats, and Hooker mufflers(they're temporairly....) And also a new air filter. Car runs a hell of alot better.

Tommorow is the transcooler.

Any sugg. as to what next? I've got a 80 dry shot of NOS.. Just need to find a bottle if anyone knows where to get one cheap.

Cam suggestions? Thnking of 3,000 stall/ shift kit.

FWIW if you have 4.10's on the highway it ain't bad if your doing the speed limit

Thanks for the review...most people give a good review on 4:10's after the initial install because they go by SOTP and then later realize the liability of it on the highway

4:10s

ive been running 4:10s on my highly modified 306 for the past 2 years, they are great for bad ass launches, that is when you have slicks, lol...otherwise, daily driven as i have isnt that bad on a good city tune, i get 12 in the city( thats with the occasional show off of gunnin it)and 17 on the highway, only bad thing i have to say about it is that , you pretty much dont have a first gear, its only good for launching , but of course i still use it all the time, and its a bad strain on transmissions, im currently going on my 4th t-5, which i feel is rediculous, i just have bad luck i think. i baby my car, but some ppl have good luck with the t-5's but im planning on doing a swap to a tko or a t56. I would recommend 4.10s to anyone who is running an automatic, or running an all motor/manual tranmission, and as far as nitrous goes, there is no need to spray off the line if you have a stick.

With 4.10's and an automatic, definitly go for the converter. The TCI ten in converter, and the Drag Radials together picked my car up nearly a second.

Like magic!

4.10s here too...love 'em (even behind a stick). I rarely see the highway but because I swapped to a Z-spec WC T-5 which has the .63 5th gear I don't sweat it. And with the 2.95 first gear I can actually make use the 4.10s when in first -however short a time that might be. Drag struts, subframes, Pro3 LCAs and warm 275s make for a mean launch

I also have 4.10s in my car. It was originally an AOD, but that died and I had it changed out for a T-5. I agree, first gear is just about non-existant... and highway driving isn't too fun, especially since I need a new driveshaft anyhow (can't go above 70 without that thing rattling the screws loose in the car). It's great for around town and such, but I'd really like to drop it down to like a 3.55 with the T-5. I'd like to add more power later and they seem to be a good medium for gears.

get a good converter and shift kit next. the converter will make more difference than the gears did, but you will need tires.

4:10s here too with a 5 speed. I wouldn't have it any other way... I really want to go the next step higher. Gears is the best bang for the buck IMO.

You got the 4.10's!
Now get a transmission cooler and a torque converter
and you will be all set.

410's are great!! To be honest my converter was a better mod then my gears!! Really woke it up,even with stock gears!! But the addition of the gears really complimented the whole package!!

I love 4.10's, just have no traction (needs UCA/LCA) with some ET Streets.. With my Nitto's it goes through three gears before it grabs most of the time.

No...it's the gears that are hurting him...he is still making the same power either way. The gears will keep in the powerband and get him in there quicker.
