Should the 4.10 gears slow down my car? When i push on the gas goin about 40, it feels alot slower than when i had the stock 3.31's(I have an auto). Even from a dead stop it does.

no 4:10s should not slow your car down. i have 4:10s but in a manual tranny. you may have an issue w/ your shiftpoints. i believe a tuner would fix that because you could change your rear end settings. someone else may be able to verify this info

No way. The 4.10s should really wake it up if anything. Like wolfkiller said maybe you should get a tuner and frim up your shift points a little

that check engine light could be from anything, mine comes on from time to time. most of the time its from the exhaust sensor. but i just put up a post about ethanol gas and my check engine light also came on. the car ran rough and seemed to lack power when i "punched it" so maybe you have a similar problem. but those gears alone should definitely give you some snap

This is the first time it has ever come on for the 1 1/2 years i have had the car, so im guessing its because i dont have a proper tune.

i would think so. you should be able to change your gear setting from your tuner. im only familiar w/ predator and it does have a setting for gear changes. the automatic transmission changes electronically, so if your computer is programmed for 3:31s and you have 4:10s in the rear end it might cause a problem

Yea, Mine feels alot slower, but that could be because I can't keep my tires from spinning

From a Roll it will feel slower because your engine is revving higher, some people say the stangs are terrable from a roll with 4.10 gears. but they are great from the dig.

if you have a tuner, make sure you changed the gear ratio. if you did not do this, it would screw up your shift points. i would not adjust the shift pressure until after you get everything else figured out.

also, if it set a code, use the tuner to read/clear the code.

My auto with the 4.10s is much quicker at every point on the tach and speedo than the 3.31s! I drove mine home roughly 50 miles without the tuner to make the changes on the spot. No CEL the whole time. I drove it very cautiously however being that the computer bases the shift points off of throttle position, RPM and MPH. Since the computer still thinks it has the factory gears it will shift much sooner than it should. It should not run rough at all. My car is a blast to drive with O/D off anywhere from just below 3000 RPM to as high as just over 4000 RPM and just tap the throttle...it lunges and has no problems with putting you back into the seat. Out on the interstate cruising with O/D on and when I go to pass somebody, it downshifts promptly and feels as if I got shot out of a cannon!

Thanks for the input everyone. It turns out all I had to do was clear the engine problems with my tuner. Now I am feeling the power I am supposed to be getting!
