I'm havnig trouble deciding between the three. I was orginally going to with 4:10's, but my stang being my daily driver many people told me not to do it on a 5 spd. So, any 5spd drivers out there with 4:10s? Do you like it? Or do you suggest any of the other two? Thanks!

if your staying NA then go 4.10s

unless you spend a LOT of time on the interstate you will be much happier with them. The only reason I have 3.73s is cuz I'm gonna get blown.

You will get better gas mileage in town with the 4.10s too (and it won't go down much on the interstate)

I *do* do a bit of driving on highways... actually a lot of highways .

Oh, and I will be adding on a good intake (CAI, TB, and Plenum)

I get a bit of exhaust drone with my 3.73s but it's not too bad. Your mileage won't drop much unless you are up over 80 mph a lot.

Most people that I know who got 3.73s wish they had gotten 4.10s

with the 3.73s myself, I would be disappointed if I wasn't planning on the vortech setup.

4.10's, just do it. People should have their Mustangs taken away from them for fearing the gear.

On tanks were the majority of the time is spent on the highway, I get over 21mpg. So all you people saying gears kill gas milage......guess you don't have any defense to your crappy gear choices now.

If you're looking to make a whole lot of power, then go with 3.73's. Otherwise, I don't want to hear it.

I am going with 3.73s.

My car is a 2004GT automatic.

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what was best for me.

The car is not raced, so the 3.73 gears are good for what I want.

If you race the car, then 4.10 is best.

BTW - you need to drive a car with 4.10s first. the low end is really good, but you will have higher RPMs on the highway.

More gas and more wear and tear on the car.

Just my .02

Daily driving with 4.10's is a lot of fun. The car "feels" like it has picked up 20+ hp, obviously it has not, but it feel that way.

They only become a "problem" if you do a lot of highway driving. I drive about 75 to 80 mph on the highway and the 4.10's are right around 2800 to 2900 rpm. That can cause the exhaust to be pretty noisey at times. Not that big of a deal, but it can give you a headache on a long trip. Also, my mpg has dropped from about 23 to 24 mpg with the stock 3.27's to around 20 mpg.

all depends on how fast your avg. cruising speed is. I think you can do the math.

for a 2004 gt anything less than 4.10 you will be dissapionted, remember the t3650 has a taller 5th than the t-45(99-2001.5) your cruising rpm at 70 is the same(2300) between the 4.10(t3650) and the 3.73(t-45)

Thanks to everyone for the advice, I guess I'll go with the 4:10s. I've done some more reading on them and I guess they are the best choice for me.

Oh and thanks for the flame Jackie! I wuv u 2!

I have a 00 gt and I was thinking about getting 3.73s or 4.10s. However, I plan to get my stang blown, so would the 3.73s be the better choice. I will probably go with a vortech.

new to the whole gear thing, but would the 3.90's be a good compromise between the two? or is 4.10 still THE choice?

If you want to get somewhat of an idea of what gears you'll want. Go to your local for dealer and pretend to be interested in buying a new truck and test drive a few.

F-250's & 350's come standard with 3.73's, with 4.10's and 4.30's optional.

Rangers are available with 3.55's, 3.73's and 4.10's

F-150's get 3.31's,3.55's & 3.73's

It's not going to feel the same as a Mustang granted, but you'll be able to get somewhat of an idea of what the diference inb gearing will feel like.

I say go with the 4.10's though, you won't be sorry!

P.S. Be nice Jackie!

I went with the 4:10's on my 02 5 speed and I am very glad i did.Sometimes it seems like even they are not enough gear.I drive it on the hwy sometimes and i avg about 2800 rpm when doing 80mph in 5th gear.Depending on which tranny you have you could be right at 3000rpm when doing 80 in 5th gear.
