4.30 too much for Nitrous?

Is 4.30 too steep for nitrous? I ask becasue I am afraid of the fuel puddling without the airflow at a high enough velocity in 1st and 2nd.

With the shift from first to second being so quick with the 4.30, I'm afraid the time between shifts will be enough to let the fuel puddle and the slow speeds in 1st and 2nd result it detonation. Any experience? Should I stick with my 4.10 or is it safe to switch to the 4.30?

I don't see fuel puddling being a problem unless you are running a much bigger shot than you should or you are spray at way to low of an rpm to start with. You'll definately need a suspension that is well setup to hook nitrous in 1st gear with that kind of rear gear.
The difference from 4.10 to 4.30 is less than 5%. Do you really think it will make that much difference? .
I'd worry a lot more about the rpms crossing the stripe at the end of the quarter. You'll only be able to get to 102mph at 6000rpm with 4.30s. With 4.10s, you still run 4th gear out at 107mph.

To calculate exact RPM and MPH we would need to know how tall a tire he is running.

With 4.10's on a 100 shot, I trapped 108.8 crossing the line at nearly 6000 rpm. I would recommend you stay with the 4.10's. If you are using a WOT switch, as long as you are letting off the gas when you shift, you won't be spraying between gears. Also, I would get a window switch to keep from engaging the nitrous below a safe rpm level. I don't spray until I hit 3500 rpm.

Side note, my car hooks pretty good in 1st with the spray. But I have 315 Nitto dr's and Steeda LCA's to help out!
