I have a 2000 V6 mustang and I am looking to swap in a 4.6L. Does anyone have experience with this? I have alot of mechanical experience so I can do the work no problem. I just need to do my homework first so I know what parts I need to complete this. Also was wandering if the edelbrock carburated manifold and computer would make this swap any easier? If so, has anyone used this setup?

...I can take it. I think.

If I did the swap I would stick with the fuel injection. You are opening a whole new can of worms trying to carborate a 4.6. My opinion would be to sell the V6 and buy the V8 unless you are wanting the sleeper or are looking to save on insurance.

Ok so if I stick with fuel injection. If I get a 4.6L with the engine's wiring on it, will that harness just plug into the cars harness at the main plug. Also will the 4.6L computer plug right into my cars harness. I know these might sound like stupid questions but I am just making sure....

Dude you are better off buying a GT than trying to swap in a 4.6. There are alot off differences than just the motor. You will need to upgrade the trans, rearend, brakes, ect when its all said an done you will have just as much money or more into the swap than just buying a GT. Then when you go to sell it, it won't be worth a dime.

I did the swap....sell your car and buy a GT...seriously...it will be cheaper in the long run...

You have to swap the engine, tranny, rear axle, driveshaft, full exhaust from headers to tips, radiator, fan, master cylinder, wiring...etc, etc, etc..

Sell it...seriously...and buy the gt...

Forget the GT. Get an 03 cobra motor. Then see how long your drivetrain last.

Ok on a serious note. Just get the GT. Unless your in a situation where you have alot of money and you don't want dad to find out.
