4.6L rods and piston into a 5.4L
I got a question? Can a 4.6L rods and pistons be used in a 5.4L truck engine. Why change engine? Just keep your 4.6L and rebuild? Yes I do love the 4.6L engines but my 4.6L aluminum block cylinder wall has two cracks and cracked by the crankshaft area two. Also damaged heads on the passenger side head. I got a used head from a savage yard which was $79 also cylinder 3 has a cracked. All my mustang parts from the 4.6L I tooked them off to reused like , crankshaft, Timing cover , etc. Nothing damaged expect cylinder 3, piston head and cylinder head valves on position 3 (2 intake valve, 1 exhaust valve and 3 rocker arms and 3 lash adjusters 1 valve spring popped out too. The used head I got had everything that still looks good but just gonna change the valve stem seals and lash adjusters for both heads. Found a 5.4L 3v for 100$ just the block with nothing in it, got the crankshaft from a part out facebook post and engine had no rods and piston also, but it came with the main bearing at the crankshaft area ,was a bit dirty and rusty but a good old deep clean outside and inside taking my time to make it clean also honed the cylinder walls , would it be possible if I could use the 4.6L piston and rods onto a 5.4L crankshaft and engine?
