I am putting together an 87 lx and i have heard good things about running 4 cyl springs in the back for ultimate weight transfer....any input on this. Second, anyone know where i can get ONE airbag for the passenger side rear spring. I know you get one with the eibach kit, but i can't seem to find them singular......best i have seen is in pairs but they want like $150. I think i can do better. Help?

Best place to get a single is a good RV center, they sell sevice replacements for many aplications and can fit it to the spring you have. (I know this only as my father had to replace just one on an old Nissan pickup that had an aftermarket air bag/helper spring kit installed, he had know idea where to find them at all until he saw them there) BTW, if you run the 4CLY spring, make sure you use good control arms and/or bushings. Soft factory bushings with 4cly springs can cause wheel hop.

I believe the whole point of 4cyl springs, is to use them in the front. When they compress with the weight of the 5.0L, they store more energy to release on launch, thus transfering weight to the rear more efficiently than stiffer springs.

You can use 4cly springs in rear to increase weight transfer also. In the front the 4cly springs work ok too, but tsprings like Moroso drag springs work better for that. Using the 4cly springs up front is best done by adding shims under the upper insulator, unless you want to lower the front and are lowering the back too, otherwise it defeats the purpose with the nose raked down. Shims are available fom Maximum Motorsports for shimming under the front insulator.

There are different theories to suspension, and some people run all 4-cylinder springs, some only front, etc. Personally, makes most sense to me to have it in the front, and a stock spring in the back.

actual i run lowering springs in rear and morosos up front with cheap monroe shocks for gt in rear and monroe struts for 4cyl up front and cut 1.7 60fts all day long. the guy that done that article know what hes talking about. all the guys i hang with have used his imput to get some awesome "60ft's"

there fine just have to cut them so you dont look like me with the 4x4 front. i pull ed ac,ps, moved battery, removed fog light bar, and put on fiberglass hood recently now the front sits 2-3"higher than before.
