hey everyone,

last week i had a post about 6 cyl axles. i've kinda decided to leave my 4 lug axle in the car, and i was wondering if it was possible to run 4 lug fox body wheels on my 66. i was looking at some 16x8 cobra r's on american muscle. the bolt pattern is different, and they have alot of backspacing, 5.09inches. is there any way to run these, or am i still better off switching to 5 lug? i'd really like to run those cobra r's, i just don't have the cash to be swapping axles and doing a 5 lug conversion up front.

thanks for the help

nick

There is a pretty good selection of wheels that actually fit the 4x4.5 pattern, why not just use one of them?

you can but you need wheel adapters to make the switch. i have them on my 64 falcon, and on my old 66 falcon with no issues. mine were 1" thick and i used the phone dial gt wheels. you may need to go to a 1 1/8 or 1 1/4 inch thick adapter with the greater backspacing of your wheels.
