I ordered myself a set of 5.0 badges to put back on my car since I bought my car without them on it. I am just wanting to know the proper measurements or whatever so I can get them in the correct location on the fender. Thanks.

i think maybe he does...like most of us. Unless your not running a 5.0 anymore.

There are not many more badges that look good right there.

mine are in the wrong spot so i cant help ya much

maybe like 3 7/8" or 4" from fender opening, 2 3/8" from the door gap, and up from the belt moulding like 3/4"

mine are the mentioned above, but about 1 3/4" from the moulding....too high, but i didnt do it lol.

i'd go with the 2 3/8" from the door and eyeball the height with the pics

On my '91 they are 1.5 inches up from the top of the belt molding and 2.25 inches from the rear of the fender. Both measurements taken in the middle of the emblem.

I love the 5.0 badges. They are THE symbol of the 5.0 Mustang.

The reason I want measurements is because I've seen people place 5.0 badges in the wrong spot and it looks horrible.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I think they are a little too high, but oh well. Too late now.

good thing this topic came up because i was going to post the same exact thing because i just got my mustang a couple of months ago and it had minor body damage so i redid the whole body and wasnt sure exactly where they went, and it is so true that if they are a little of it looks so bad.

they look good.

im not much for painted trim either. it breaks up the flow of the dark windows, but it is probably something to get used to. there are plenty of cars that are all paint lol

I don't care much for the painted trim either. I bought the car that way though. I am planning on painting it all black again sometime.

Exactly. They are a popular symbol for the Mustang.

You won't beleive how many times i get asked by regular people if my 2003GT is a 5.0

Well since I have a slight case of obsessive compulsive disorder when it comes to my car, I just didn't think the two emblems looked like they were in the same locations, even though I used the same measurements. Sure enough, on the passenger side, the emblem is probably 1/8" lower than the one on the drivers side. I wonder if I can peel the drivers side back off (without taking off some paint) and reapply it using some adhesive.

adhesive remover (be careful-read label), and then use some 2-sided tape (aka moulding tape) . both can be found at the autoparts store.
