ok, the 5.0 HO in my 95 gt finally blew.

Instead of rebuilding it, I have a fresh 5.8 with a fox swap pan allready on it, that my bro was gonna use on his ranger, but decided not to.

Not the car allready has an AODE tranny so I have a deliema.

I have a 5.8 intake manifold, and I am not sure if it will work since the block was cast in 1974, and was out of a 74 torino originally.
But assuming that it does work, can I just use the stock wiring harness and computer, or does that have to be changed? And the upper intake manifold on the 5.8 is dual barrel, but I assume I could use the one off of my 5.0 right?

My other option is to go carbed I guess, but I don't think the tranny would work would it?
I mean I would have to get an AOD or an C4 right?

Don't I need an accessory bracket as well, or an adapter?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

Your intake should work on any 69-present 351W blocks. I just put a 69 block in mine.
You can use your stock wiring harness, and accessory brackets. Technically, your stock upper intake will work on the 351, but it would really kill your hp. The dual barrel lower intake won't work unless you're going carbed.

I don't know what to tell you about the AODE, other than you will probably have issues with header clearance.

im sure george at Accufab could make something for the headers to fit. Or even kooks...

Looks like we might have quite a few 351w based stangs in here pretty soon. Also remember about it not being a roller block and all that jazz. If you search, you will come up on A LOT of info just in our 94-95 and the corral's 94-95 section. Most of the fox body stuff applies also...

Hey Mike, what motor mounts are you running?

stock accessory brackets fit, you just need a longer belt.

the accy's bolt directly to the heads, not the water pump like the fox units.

yeah, they're the same size as stock. I bought them from summit a loooong time but never got around to installing them on the old engine.
