Hey guys,

I've got an issue that I'm hoping someone here has experience with to help sort out. I have an 86 Saleen with a fairly stock 5.0 converted to mass air. I've recently rebuilt the engine and gotten everything back together however it will not start unless ether is sprayed into the intake. I've narrowed the issue down to the injectors and their delivery of fuel but I'm a bit stumped from here. Here's what I get:
- 35PSI fuel pressure on the fuel rail while cranking
- 12 Volts at the hot side of each injector (at the harness)
- Noid light shows an injector pulse signal being recevied while cranking (these are stock 19lb injectors)
- all timing and spark related issues have been eliminated. The cars starts on all 8 cyl briefly with a shot of ether in the intake.
- the fuel rail pressurizes however none of the injectors "click" while cranking. Even though they appear to receive a pulse signal from the ECU.
- harnesses have been checked and re-checked as well as grounds have been checked (chassis and engine) to be ok.

the injectors have sat for several years unused so with the behavior I'm starting to think that maybe they are all bad but I would find that hard to believe. this car has previously ran with the mass air conversion so I also would be hard pressed to beileve there is any issues with the ECU. I plan to plug in a spare and give it a try but the fact that I recevie a pulse signal would lead me to believe it is working properly. It's obviously a fuel delivery issue but I'm stumped!!!

Thanks guys!

Randy
