i was just wonder for those who put a newer model engine in there old style mustang, where you put the fuel pump. if i remember correctly is suppose in the fuel tank on newer model cars. also do i have to put in a new fuel line if i convert a I6 to a V8
From your post I'm assuming you're using the electric pump. Are you going to run EFI or carb? I've got a late model 5.0 in my car and I'm running an early model 289 timing cover with a mechanical pump. But yes, generally the fuel pump with be in or near the tank. If I were you I'd go ahead and replace the fuel line anyway whether you need to or not.
i have no pump yet. i was wondering where it goes or if i do use electric does someone what to post a pic of theirs. i figured it would be on the timing case

it depends whether you are running carb or efi as to the style pump you are running. Mechanical pumps are going to give you about 6-8 psi. Most aftermarket electric pumps mounted externally run the same 6-8 psi and both of these work great for a carb set up. If you are going efi, those systems require around 40psi which is the "in tank" style found in fox body stang...
With a carb, I would suggest running an electric pump. Best placement is at the rear of the car mounted on the frame rail close to the tank. Electric pumps are much more efficient and will last longer pushing fuel instead of trying to pull the fuel. As far as the timing cover goes, use a block plate to cover the hole in the timing cover unless you are using a newer style (efi) cover then there will be no hole.
