Hello

I have a 50oz balancer on my 302 setup. I cant seem to re use the stock crank shafter bolts. they dont fit for whatever reason. Anyone know if they are a different bolt from the factory balancer???

Are you talking about the 4 bolts that bolt the crank pulley onto the balancer? Are you reusing a stock or an aftermarket balancer?

Yes, the four bolts that bolt the pulley to the balancer. I have an aftermarket balancer. Its an old one with a Cat on it. It is a 50oz balancer so its not stock. My stock balancer bolts do not work. The threads dont match.

most likely you will need different pitch bolts and possibly a spacer to align the crank pulley properly. Post a pic of the balancer.

I get the impression that you are thinking only aftermarket balancers can be 50 oz weight. You are correct that what you have there is not a stock balancer, but as far as the weight goes, 50 oz VS 28 oz, both were OEM balancers. The early 302s from 68 until about 80-81 had the 28 oz set up, Ford changed over to the 50 oz after that. Whatever you end up choosing, make sure you are getting the right weight for you engine as it will have undesirable consequences to use the wrong weight. These are not interchangeable even though they will fit.

If you have a fox body 302 block then 99% it is a 50oz.. Get a pioneer 872030 balancer.. They are under $200 and are rock solid. I have run that on 3 cars including the one I drive now.
