Hey when I got my mustang the previous owner had cd's stuck in there...I kept getting CD ERROR trying to get them out..I took it to a guy and he got them out for me and told me that a spring was messed up and in order to prevent CD's getting stuck in the changer don't push them in.

Anyway I had no prob till yesterday the slots were all full but the cd changer accepted another CD I loaded. I was able to get all cd's out except one which I know is in the but is not close to the opening it seems to be down in the player..I keep getting the CD error when I want to load and No CD's when I wanna eject..any advice..I really dont want to take it to be taken out again

The reason the CD's don't come out is because the rubber roller gets dirty and does not have enough grip to push the CD out.

To fix it, remove the radio, and remove the face. Clean the gray rubber roller with rubbing alcahol and it's going to work great for another 6 months.

When you remove the face, watch out for the ribbon cable. It simply unplugs, so don't yank on it.

after a few months of trial and error I've found if I push another CD in there and pull it out in a nice smooth motion the other cd just pop's right out...just a stop-gap solution until I get another head unit

Paper labels on CD's

I have had similar problems caused primarily by stick-on labels on CD's. Also clean rubber at feed of head unit. I used medical hemastat tweezers to grab the CD, they worked great. Good Luck!

This was the solution for me as well. I just took another cd and basically tapped the stuck cd with it. All was good after that.

My CD's were getting stuck a few month ago and I figured it out that they were getting hung up. The easy solution was to just use a flat tool (small flat-bladed screwdriver, nail file, another CD) to lift up on the edge of the CD as it is trying to eject. I found other similar posts where people found the same solution to work. BTW these were store-bought CD's, not homemade ones with sticky labels.

Same here - I've done this a number of times...it's annoying, but unless it's under warranty, I can live with this.

well i cant tap on it cuz i can't even see the cd in there...also when I push eject I just get CD ERROR it doesnt seem to be tryin to eject (i dont hear any sound or movement) ...one quick question can I open the head unit myself without braking it...I heard that in the older changer if you don't open it a t a certain angle it falls apart
