65-66 ignition cylinder

Is there any easy way to remove the ignition cylinder from the dash when .I lost my key. The ignition switch needs to be replaced. Please helpand it need to be replaced bad.

WIthout the key, it will be much harder. Unless somone else has some amazing trick, I think you are stuck with drilling the cylinder. Needs to be able to turn to the ACC position, then depress the pin through the hole and turn farther counter-clockwise and pull out.

I asked a friend of mine about this. He has been a locksmith for a long time, and he thinks you will either have to drill it, or have a locksmith pick it for you. He thought he might be able to make a key by feel, but it would take a long time, and of course that will cost more.

I've removed many cylinders using a screw in a small slide hammer. Very easy to pop out--actually too easy. It does mess up the switch though, but since you are replacing it that won't matter.
