'65 replacement gauges

MY '65 has the "Falcon dash" which has the two gauges at both sides and the horizontal speedo.
I want to change it out to the 5-gauge cluster or an aftermarket 6-gauge cluster.
There has been one thread (in '09) sort of about this but i think he started with the 5-gauge and just replaced the individual gauges.
Has anyone done the complete switch from Falcon dash to 5 or 6 gauge? If so, where did you buy it, how difficult is it to make the switch and which gauges did you use. Oh - and what other parts do i need to buy to make the conversion.
Sorry - lots of questions here but i don't know where to start.

I thought about doing that, but I really think the Falcon speedometer is kinda cool. I'm curious to see how your swap goes.

The Falcon speedo is very cool when paired with a Rally-Pac.

Oh Man, I love the Rally Pac. That looks awesome! I didn't have the extra cash for one, so I have this little JCW tach right now. It has a sweep style to it that looks similar to the original stuff. You've probably already seen the picture, but here it is again. I put a transparent green peice of plastic inside it to make it illuminate green. It does the job for now. One day, I'll spring for a reproduction Rally Pac.

I converted my 65 over to the 66 gauge pod as well. My reasoning was because I wanted more information then what my 65 pod was telling me. 3 gauges (speedo, temp, fuel) was not very usefull for my application. So I added the 66 pod, Autometer Phantom gauges (speedo, temp, oil, volt, fuel) then I added a 65 shelby dash pod with a tach and boost gauge.

I have nothing bad to say about the looks of the 65 speedo, but I really like having more information about what's going on with my engine and that was the whole reason for my upgrade.

I went the Dakota Digital Route. Complicated but well worth the effort.

That digital stuff is cool, but its too modern for my car.

Hey KreagerM, I agree - the reason i want to convert is because i want more info than just speedo, fuel and temp. I found a gauge comes complete with wiring harness. Looks nice in the pic but i wonder if it in real life is cheap and plasticky looking. It's priced at $399.95 Anyone out there bought one like this?
