the pillar trim has very large holes in it that would be covered by the weatherstrip.
Is the trim installed then the WS glues in place? It also had a strip of rubber between it an the body, that i removed when cleaning it . Can't find it listed in the parts cataloge ,is this factory?
Does anyone has a pic of the trim installed on there convertible .
thanks
Ill post a pic shortly

The weatherstrip retainer covers the alignment holes in the roofrail. It seals to the roofrail with thin foam tape, and screws in place with flat washer head screws. The weatherstrip is then installed, usually with at least some glue.

Along the same lines as the original question: For my 66 convertible, I'm missing the driver's side Pillar trim. I havent been able to find any place that has this part. Anyone have any ideas or steer me in the right direction?

If you can't find an original, a near perfect replica can be made by cutting down a coupe weatherstrip retainer.
