Just getting my car back together after paint, reinstalled windows in both doors and quarters. I have a 66 body manual that I used to reference installation. The problem I am having is that on both sides when the door windows are fully up and I attempt to close the door, they protrude about a 1/4" rearward and will strike the fully up quarter windows. I have the vent window fully forward in the track and when I do this, the door window is "loose" in the guides and still hits with a 1/4" of overhang. When the vent window is fully back a, the window rolls up and down nice (not loose) but still has the 1/4" overhang and strikes the quarter window. I don't see any forward/back adjustment on the 1/4 window. Is their and will this solve problem? TIA, Brian

Man, I JUST finished the same problem today. What I had to do was start from the front vent window and make sure it was adjusted properly. Thought they were but I just started over to be sure and I am glad I did. Got both the front to back plus the tilt fixed so it hit the rubber seal properly. Lots of minor adjustment to be done. Then I did the door windows so they rolled proper and sealed good all around. Then I went into the quarter glass and really had a fit of a time. Ended up having to have the glass down a bit (1/2 " about). Loosen the three bolts for adjustment and lift up from the very bottom of the window mechanism (at the floor pan) plus push it back to get the proper fit. Took two of us three tries on each side to get the fit right. Now, the windows have no overlap, roll up tight and seal good, no wind whistle, and do not catch on the quarter glass when opening. One thing I was trying to do was get to tight of a fit between the two windows and the door would pull out on the quarter glass when opening. Spent about 3 hours for the two of us. So nice to have it done but it takes time and a bit of studying the system to get the proper movement when at the quarter glass. It will come in line for you.
