66 mustang 6 cylinder AT drive shaft behind 351w

Hi! I'm pretty much done installing my drive train in my 66 mustang, I got a 351w with over 400 foot pound of torque, t5z trans, king cobra clutch and ford 9" rear end with 3.50 gear. Will my stock drive shaft with 1260 u-joint in the front and 1260/1310 at the rear survive on the street or I should get a 3" or 3.5" shaft with 1330 u-joint. Thanks!

if its from a 6 then im gonna say no. to weak and i think the spline count is different. best off going to a drive shaft shop and have them do it for you

+1 the six cylinder U-joints are too small, as is the driveshaft tube.

Thanks! I was hoping to get away with a 30$ conversion u-joint to fit my 9" rear end.

No it won't.
I've ran around with the stockish 351w/T5 in my former 6 cyl car for a while and found out the hard way that wouldn't last. I broke the rear also.

Thanks! I got a 1330 slip yoke from the Lincoln Versailles I got my rear end from. Should I get a 3 inch or 3.5 inch drive shaft build?

as lon gas you are making less than 600hp a 3" tube will do nicely.

I found an explorer aluminum drive shaft for cheap. It is the right length will it hold up or they are too thin. Thanks

that should do pretty good. it will last longer than the six cylinder drive shaft will.
