67 68 coupe...?

hello...its been forever since i have been here sorry...
anyway i am checking out ebay and stuff....and i collect a certain
number of hotwheels cars...and this has probably been asked before..
why do most the model cars ..hotwheels...matchbox..etc...always
have the 68 model listed ..but the car aways has the 67 front quarter panel emplems...and yes these are always fastbacks..never a coupe...
so where there actually some 67& one half models outthere or something?

because they're hot wheels and they don't know cars that well...

I'd agree. They were never intended to be exact replics but only suggestive of the Mustang. For example, I have a Hot Wheels Mustang convertible that is both a '65 and '66.

I'm sure Mattel isn't much worried about authenticity because they've sold millions of 'em as they are.

probably would have to pay Ford more royalties if they made an exact match. Either that , or they're just plain stupid.
