67/8 Trans am racing dash 65 RACECAR

I'd like to do something like it for my 67 shelby resto mod clone,.The 65 shelby race car looking dash in a 67...Hmmmmmmmmm any ideas?

You might find some pics for ideas here:
67 and 68 Shelby & Mustang notchback racer

I think they basically riveted a flat panel of steel or alum. across the opening and cut holes for what size gauges they wanted. They turned the gauges so that at race speeds the needles would be pointing straight up (if they ran at 8K RPM then 8K would be at 12o'clock), etc.

After reviewing the race car pic and the JBA car I'm going to go wholoe hog with this and fill the panel like a 65/6 dash.I'll get a donor dash from a parts car and have at it.I'll send pics when available..thanks again...Just can't be regular Jr. can ya?

Check the 1967 notchback pic for car #25 from the first link I posted, a much clearer pic of an alum. panel dash. It won't let me copy/paste or save the pic.

Hi Jon thanks for the additional information about car #25..Thats pretty much what I had in mind ..super clean work...The funny thing, my ealier post was of car #24 and the dash appears somewhat different than #25...Speaking of clean the Titus clone coupe is unreal ...

Just a quick template made of oaktag spray painted silver...I see, I already have adjustment to make but it's gonna work out pretty cool..
