I have a 68 289 but the carb keeps malfucntioning. I dont know what kind of carb is on there right now I think its a 32. Would it be cheaper to have it rebuilt or replaced?
If you can find a mechanic with a few gray hairs, get it rebuilt! If you can follow instructions and pictures, get two cans of spray cleaner,the gallon can to soak it in and DIY with a kit and a new float(s). There should be numbers stamped into the housing or an aluminum tag with all the numbers you need.
