My 68 was originally to be parted out, but since I sold my fastback I have decided to restore it. It needs the typical body parts such as floors, fender aprons, rear quarter patch etc. However, the front spindles and all brake components, backing plates, etc. have been removed and sold. What kind of donor cars can I look for to install with minor mods? Or is it cheaper to purchase new spindles, backing plates, etc? Any chance I can make the front end of my 82 donor mustang work somehow? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, it is a basket case and my 68 is much more important to me. The price was right for the 82 also, $800cdn for an 82 LX with a rebuilt 302, 5spd, and a T-5 in the trunk...

Agreed. I think the '82 is a fox body. The granada swap is explained pretty well at the following links, although one says '77-'84 granada spindles will work while the other says '75-'80.

82 is a fox body and the 81-84 granadas are also on the fox platform so look for 77-80 granada or monarch mercury version also later mavericks had the same disk setup

Thanks for the info, I'll change that in my reference binder.

I would use a 71-73 mustang disk brake setup. These are better than the granada ones (bigger disks), and stronger spindles than the earlier years.
