68 headlights hot working

No headlights, I have parking lights, Tail lights, Turn signals, I pressed dimer switch and the high been indicator light came on, Then I pressed it several more times and the high beam indicator would not go out and no headlights, Any help would be appreciated

Disconnect the plugs from the headlights.
Turn on the headlight switch.

Clip a test light to positive battery terminal and use the other end to identify the ground terminal—the test light should illuminate.

Clip the test light to a known good ground.
Turn on the headlights.
One of the remaining terminals should be hot on low beam.
Press the dimmer switch. Power should move to the other terminal.


If:

-Power alternates between terminals: dimmer switch and feed wiring are functioning; inspect lamps, plugs and grounds.

-Only the high-beam terminal ever powers: likely dimmer switch or its connector.

-Both high and low terminals are powered simultaneously: crossed/melted wiring or an internally failed switch.
