Hello, I have a 1968 Mustang that I converted from drum to disc. I have looked trough all postings on this site. Made the conversion, which went very smooth. The doner car was a 1970 mustang disc brake system. My only problem and my question is " The Brake pedal from the has only 2" of travel before it hits the floor and the length which the bottom of brake pedal is as long as the gas pedal". Too low to the bottom of floor board. Is there something I did wrong? I seen other conversions that the brake pedal is about the half way point on the gas pedal. Thanks for any help in advance.

Are you using your 68 master cylinder?

Its been quite awhile since I put 70 disks on my falcon, but I had exactly the same problem and for the life of me cannot remember what we had to do at the shop. I'll have to call around . . .

I don't understand what you mean about pedal length...
When you convert drum to disc, all you swap is the spindle and brakes themselves.
Did you swap in a different pedal?
OR
Are you trying to say that the pedal feels spongy?
In other words:
It travels far before braking...

If it is spongy, then you just didn't bleed enough air from the lines.

Is it possible that you also swapped in the brake booster 70? If so, you need to swap the pedal as well. The power pedal is 4-5 inchs longer and mounts differently. We need more information. The 70 to 68 disc brake swap is simple. Be sure that you used the outer tie rods from the 1970.
