I have a 68 mustang that the hinge bushing are worn out. My question is will the hinge pins come out so i can replace the bushings. I have tried to get the hinge pins out but they are not moving. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Robert Hendrix

Hinges may be either re-bushed or replaced. Any of the vendors offer such products or your local NAPA can provide bushing and pin sets. Pins are removed by driving them upward with a hammer and a little heat if needed.

Doors will never fit or align properly unless the hinges are in good condition and the striker plates are properly adjusted. Patience is REQUIRED but well worth the effort.

I had a sagging problem with my drivers door. I bought a pin and bushing kit, but when I removed the old one, I found the hinge had worn out so the new bushing was too loose to work. Wound up having to purchase new hinges.

Be advised to protect the edge of your door and fender with masking tape before you do this work. . I didnt and wound up chipping the paint.
