Garret E-turbo based, turbine only no compressor, spins a switched reluctance generator. Goal is to drastically reduce parasitic loads on the motor and recover some of the heat from the exhaust that would otherwise be wasted. Used to maintain battery charge and reduce alternator demands. Better performance plus improved gas mileage. With gas prices spiking up again this application relieves some of the pain at the pump.

Tried to call the company today to get more info, but could not get thru. Internet search turned up nothing.

Sounds like you are the company! Do you have any photos or drawings of this setup? Why couldn’t you just spin an alternator with the turbine shaft? Heat? Packaging?

A lot of modern military aircraft I work on use an airframe mounted accessory drive (AMAD) for this purpose. That would be sweet to drive a tiny gearbox which spins an alternator (power) and hydraulic pump (power steering and hydra boost power assisted braking). All at virtually no penalty to the engine. Info or ideas anyone?

Garrett and other companies that supply the components to integrate this tech play their cards close to the chest. They are all in bed with big OEM corporations. As soon as they realize you are enquiring as a private or aftermarket entity....they politely end the conversation. At Klassic TEK we like it this way DIY is what we're all about.

E-Turban (SR) switched reluctance generator install in exhaust. SR generators are not as RPM or heat sensitive as alternator plus they can be switched between generator and motor modes. So the generator can perform as a drive motor ...dual application in one unit. Add compressor to the equation now the SR can drive the compressor at high rpm during low engine rpm cycle and switch to battery charge mode during high rpm engine cycle. No more turbo lag and good turbo boost through entire engine rpm range

Neat idea, how tunable is the motor (boost) side of the equation? Can you map the SR according to input from engine parameters? That would be a very flexible way to maximize traction.

what about the aluminum 3 valve heads?

I believe they are referring the CHI Cleveland style heads from Australia. These show incredible potential, and have been tearing up the Engine Masters Competitions. Link here.

3V is referring to (barrel) valve and port sizing. The 3V aluminum head's canted valves and ports are sized between the original 2V (barrel) and 4V (barrel) heads. Based on lessons learned from the Aussie (CHI down under) who continued to develop and tweak the 351-Cleveland long after its demise in here the USA. The quenched combustion chambers design has also been massaged to minimize detonation.

Cylinder Heads Ford

This engine delivers 200 more hp than it's original 70's era 351-CJ "Q Code" ancestor including vastly improved low to mid range torque, drivability and mpg.

sounds like a good head...its just misleading using 3v in regards to cylinder heads, since obviously a carb term...anyone heard anything more about that 4 valve pushrod v6 GM was starting to develop years ago?(sorry, dont mean to go off on a tangent, but now I am curious)
