I have a 69 mustang. The front parking lights go out when the headlights are on. just the fronts, rears are on normal. if I put the headlight switch in the parklight only position the front and rear parklights and marker lights are on also the ignition key is illuminated along with the dash lights. with the headlights on the front parks go out and the ignition illumination go out. the dashlights and rear parks remain on. I just replaced the headlight switch with a nos ford one and it is still the same. Is this normal or is it a wiring problem? Thanks Hank

It's normal on my 65

I found schematics for a 69 'stang at:

http://www.geocities.com/midlife66/wiring/wiring.html

It looks like the front parking light wire (blk/yel) gets its power from it's own terminal on the light switch like my 65. Oh yeah, it's tied to the Ign key Illumination. (I don't have that).

I'm not sure about 69 models exactly but on all the earlier modes the parking lights went out when the headlights were turned on and I think it is the same for 69. They are "parking" lights....not "driving" lights. I do not think you have a problem.
