69 Windshield wipers

Ok is seems like everything I do on this car is hard and its even harder to stop working on whatever it is to come inside the house and type a question this sucks!

Well I need to remove my cowl to have a hood stripe painted I cant get the wipers off, I see a little latch that seems to be whats holding it on I pry it out and pull up on the wiper no dice. Is there a trick

Well just in case someone needs to know how to do it and does a search later. I just took a claw hammer and pryed it up it was very hard though they had been painted.
