Hey fellas, looking for pass side quarter panel for the mach. I've found skins, but not full quarters. What exactly is a skin and could I use it in leu of a quarter panel? Any good junkyards or used mustang parts dealers? I'm in Atlanta, Ga. Thanks

Brendon

Hi Brendon, Good luck finding a used one ! I am replacing the right side on my '69 Mach currently. I purchased a replacement skin from NPD, but found factory FORD sheetmetal last week that I'm gonna use instead !! I'll sell you this aftermarket I have if you're interested. Also, I know of a guy who has alot of parts you could call. Send me a private e-mail and I'll get you in touch with him. I'm located in upstate SC. (Couple of hours from you), David

If your upper quarter is fine, the skin is a good compromise. I didn't need an entire quarter so the skin worked just fine... my resto guy simply cut parallel to and about 2 inches below the upper body line, put a little flange on it, and welded the skin on. Seamless and clean, and completely impossible to tell anything has been done.

Hey DarkBuddha, I noticed that your '69 Mach is Gold. I thinking of changing mine to that color. Any chance you could post a pic of your car ?? I'd love to see it. David

I don't have a very good overall pic of the car, but this should give you some idea...

and a photochop of the future (but the photo exposure totally screws up the color)...

BTW, its a '70, not a '69...

Thanks Dave. Actually the 69 and the 70 rear quarters are different. Thats the problem I have seeing the PO put a 69 on there and it doesnt fit quite right.

Thanks DarkBuddha, that car is lookin' sweet !! I love that color too. Mine was origianlly dark jade green, and I've just gotta change it !

Brendon, The '60 and '70 aftermarket replacement quarters are actually the same. They come WITHOUT the corner marker lights or '69 side scoops cut out, and you fit them accordingly to the year car. This makes for a little more work than finding Ford replacement sheetmetal. David
