I just bought a 302 that has been rebuilt (bored and stroked a little too) out of a 74 bronco. I was wondering if i could use 73 parts on, or is there a change in the motor from those years? If anyone knows any complications that could arise, I am planing on putting this in a 66, so i need to know header questions and motor mounts and how it would bolt up to an AOD mainly.

No difference between 73 & 74, these 302's were pretty much dogs to start with. Huge dishes in the piston tops, 8 to 1 compression, retarded cam timing low hp ratings. Motor mounts and transmission bolt patterns never changed for small blocks from 65 to 2001.

The only issue i can think of is the water pump inlet if you are using the stock radiator, inlet is on passenger side up till 69 I believe on the small blocks, 70 and later on driver side. There are also many different ways to deal with this. Aftermarket or possibly big block radiator, longer hoses, early style water pump...

Thanks guys. I'm glad its rebuild, the stock setup seems kina clunky and not much more that just a block of metal.
