I just got done swapping out the 7.5 diff for an 8.8.The 8.8 has the sway bar that bolts to the LCAs and also has another bar that is shackled to the axle tubes, trouble is I dont know where that is supposed to bolt up to.

Year and model of the rear end would help us too, if you know it.

Is there one at either end of the housing? Quad-shocks and brackets maybe?

the quad shocks are bolted in .the sway bar is bolted to the LCAs this bar is attached to the axle housing with 2 u bolts, one on each side of the pumpkin about half way to the backing plates,it has almost the same shape as the sway bar,but is kinda below the rear.

ill snap a pic and get it up tomorrow.

Sounds like an aftermarket sway bar. Ford didn't paint anything red from the factory

doesnt mean a previous owner didnt, but i dont know of any sway bar other than MM's the bolts to the axle and the control arms, and MM bolts to the frame rails and axle tubes, sounds like it maybe a previous owners "improvement"

it is shackled to the axle tubes, and it terminates just under the frame rails, thats the thing thats got me confused,
I just cant see where it bolted to in its host car.its almost like there should be a link or something, cause it definetly doesnt reach the frame rails.
