New option: If I have an '84 with a 5.0 already carbed, but it has a 4-speed, do I have everything I need to swap the motor and trans. to a '68 that is an automatic? If not, what else is needed? Thanks.

You'll have to swap the oil pans, timing cover, to start. You may need to shorten the drive shaft too. The SROD bell is an inch longer than the older bells. Measure your 84 trans from the front of the bell to the end of the tailshaft, then do the same with the SROD to see if they're different lengths.
