Well im currently looking for parts for my 2.3t swap in doing to my notch. I found a 83-84 TC in the junk yard and I can get the mtoor and tranny and everything i need cept the turbo for 150$. Are these motors good or are they a bad yeear for some reason? I got a vam off it and the turbo mani off it today for 20$. Is the head the same as lets say a 86 SVO? its just lower in HP cuz its not intercooled? Give me some infor on this motor
84 TC, Good or Bad???

I got a complete '84 TC a couple years ago for $150, pulled the engine and tranny, and then sold a ton of parts off it and made back more than what I spent on the car and got somebody to haul it away for free. So for $150 with no turbo, that doesn't sound like that great of a deal.
Anyway, the '84 TC wasn't too bad, however it only has 30 lb injectors, small vam, and inline intake. Internally it's all the same. You probably shoulda waited on your purchases because the small vam isn't that great (you probably coulda got one almost for free) and unless the exhaust manifold is an E6 it's not worth much either (you can tell by checking the number on the manifold near the front, it should start with E6, if it starts with E3 that's bad)
