I have a 1986 mustang gt very modified been having starter issues, I turn the key and starter cranks engine but doesn't start took key out of ignition and car was still turning over, quickly disconnected the ground cable to the battery to stop it. Did this twice before I changed the soliniod on the drivers side fender, car did it again, but it doesn't Do it all the time, ran great for two weeks before same thing happened. Well I then had the ignition module in the steering column changed figured for the cost it was worth it after all it's 28 yrs old. Car ran great for about 3 weeks no issues, then one day it does it again engine cranks and won't start I pull key out and it's still cranking. Removed battery cable to stop it. Got a wrench taped on solenoid and it stopped ok maybe I got a bad soliniod. Went right to ford and bought a original ford part (made in Mexico) of course. Car runs great for about 2 weeks then it really screws up I go to start the car it starts this time and the starter stays engaged in the flywheel engine is now idling at about 750 rpm and starter is screaming by the time I got the battery cable off, wires started to melt and starter was smoking bad, thought It was gonna go up in flames. Just can't figure this thing out.... Any feedback will help I'm lost
