hello, First of all, I am in the military and stationed overseas for the next couple months, so I dont have any pics to help with this issue. I will try to explain what I have done already, and ask suggestions. I bought a 89 lx hatchback that has a newly rebuilt 306. the person I bought it from did all the exterior engine build himself. (poorly). He had orange gasket sealant all over the front and back of the intake. The engine had oil leaks from the front and back of the intake manifold,(the orange gasket sealer). The back leak was leaking down onto the exhaust. I pulled the intake and replaced both the upper and lower manifold and valve cover gaskets. thats when I noticed the oil pan gasket was ripped with the orange sealant on it also. I proceeded to pull the iol pan and replace that gasket also.(hope i never have to do that again, painful). After all that, the engine still leaks oil from the front of the engine. It pools on the front of the intake. I don't think it is the new manifold gasket or the distributor, as they are all new. I was thinking timing chain cover, but want some other opinions before I start tearing the front of the engine apart (and the oil pan gasket again!) What do you guys think.
