I ran my '89 Ford Mustang GT at the track for the first time last night at Mt. Park Dragway in Clay City, KY. I had a great time! Just figured I would run it to see what it could do before I redo the engine. Heres whats done to it:

Stock '89 GT engine with 188K miles, 3.08 gears, K&N filter, Mac shorty headers and o/r h-pipe, dumped Flowmaster 40s, AOD to t-5 swap with KC clutch, Pro 5.0 shifter and extremely cheap aqua tread tires.

Results:

-reaction .241
-I1 2.387
-I2 6.400
-I3 9.697
-E.T. 14.856
-MPH 95.248

I know I need some practice! But this is the first time I have ever drag raced a car.

Gotta work on the 60' times. Even with ****ty tires, you should be able to get 2.2 60's at least. Should low 14's in it with more practice!

those are pretty respectable times for a 188k motor, thats pretty much stock...

Throw some bolt ons at it and pick up a set of drag radials and see if you can rip a 13 second pass out of it before you tear it apart.

I swear to God when I finally get mine the way I want it I'm hiring a security guard, installing a sprinkler system, and putting a "Not for sale EVER" sign on it.

Good luck finding a clean notch.
