My front struts are done. I would love to change up to coil overs but don't have the money right now. I'm thinking of going Lakewood or Strange 90/10's or 70/30's up front and 50/50's out back. Also doing the X2C Steeda ball joints since mine are shot too. I know yellow1995cobra has the Lakewood's and likes them. Anyone else running this stuff?

I'd stick to the Lakewoods because they are tried and true. I think because you run the stock rims (which are heavy) you could use 90/10's. I never thought 90/10's were streetable, but yellow95cobra has them and said they are, and his word is better than mine. I was going to do 70/30's and 50/50's, but I think I might go with 90/10's instead. I would like to know more about this too...

Well I've been pricing things out.

Strange $323 for everything (struts and shocks)
Lakewood's $258 for everything
Tokico (Mach 1 take off's, new) $225 for everything
Tokico 5 way adjustables $520 for everything
KYB's GR2's $225 for everything
Billstein $300 just for front struts

Like joe said, the lakewoods are tired and true. I give them my vote.

Only thing is,(i said this in the previous thread) you wont be able to hit turns fast. Especially if you take the sway bar off. I personally could care less about turns, i just love it when i messing with someone on the street and i punch it and get alot of front end lift, it really scares em off.

I think the nice thing about adjustable stuff if you can get the best of both worlds to a point. But it depends if thats what you want.

Joe, there are a few things i would consider when looking for shocks/struts....first i look at what your car does....obviously at the very mos your stang is a "weekend warrior" (i say that tentitivly cuz it seems like you drive the car twice a year ) and it sees the occasional visit to the strip...so at first id be leaning towards the shocks/struts that gave you some serious bite in the straight line but stayed decent enough for the street to dive it there.....BUT....based on my personal preferences AND the fact tha when i look through your mods, you obviously have put more than your share of money into that steeda suspension stuff and obviously had some handling in mind when doing that....mkes me suggest some of te adjustable stuff....like the Illuminas, or something of the sort....in a perfect world id say coilovers for sure (that is my plan) but then id recomenend the Max Motorsports ones, and have you checked the price out for that stuff??!! ....but idk....id justhate to see all that hanling based suspension work go to waste by having the wrong shocks/struts in the car.......again though this is my opinion and your overall decision....

Joe, Stay away from ANYTHING that is tIRed. Just the word itself sounds bad.
I wish I could help you with this one, but I know Nothing about suspension (which is just a little less than I know about other stuff)

well here is my opinion...if you are gonna screw up your handling anyway, might as well do it right and get the 90/10's

Id go for the bilstiens. If your going for handling that is. I myself like to take turns quick. Right now i have the bilstien 03 cobras in front and tokico bullit shocks in back. The tokicos are way to soft for me. I want to change it bilstien all the way around(non 03 cobra)

Aren't you glad shocks are so easy to change on our cars.

Now that's what I am talking about. If your going to go, go all out, that is if your really serious, then be serious. I know some people who want to run skinnies, lift bars, the works but they never go to the track. I'm considering going with Lakewoods. I want to go coil overs too but I don't think they will fit with the 17x9" Cobra R's on the foxbody.

Wow this is a real old thread. I'm probably going with the Strange adjustables front and rear.

Possibly Towers on Friday. I have some college buddies coming in on Thursday and they are taking me to the Rush concert that night. I don't even like Rush. Didn't even know they were still alive. Guess it's the Geezer Tour.

No I like that song but I've heard it 61,246 times in my life. That along with Red Barchetta is so played. It's a 90 minute session then an intermission followed by another 90 minute session.
