Will a 90-93 black dash fit in my 87 without any modifications? Are they identical? Will my gauge cluster, hvac controls, center console going to fit correctly?
I might be getting a good deal on a black dash locally. I want to know what’s going to be involved before I purchase it. Thanks in adv.

No they are not the same and would require a few minor mods. I have a 90 dash in my 87. The fuse panel will have to be relocated below the dash like in the90-93 cars or you can cut a hole in the newer dash and mount it under the knee pad on the new dash. I did this and did not use the metal knee pad reinforcement plate.

Otherwise the dash plastic and everything will mount right up to the metal framework of a 87-89 dash. Some have had to cut the plastic under the instrument cluster for clearance, but I don't recall doing that.

The 87 gauge cluster and console will work just fine. The 87 HVAC controls will work, but you will have to drill a few new mounting holes in the AC panel since the mounting positions are different between the two. I would get the newer AC panel and swap it out if you can. The electrical will fit just fine with the newer panel, you just need to lengthen the yellow AC vacuum hose to the defroster damper located right above the accelerator pedal.
