I have a 91 notch with a reman 306, 302 with a .30 over bore, gt-40 P heads and a b 303 cam. I have 50psi of oil pressure on a cold start then about 25 after it warms up. I'm running 10-40 engine oil, but was thinking about 20-50 engine oil to get some better pressure , what do you think??? 400 miles on engine.

your oil pressure is well with in spec. I would do 10w30 for winter and 10w40 for spring/summer.

Do you have 25 PSI while driving say, at 2500 RPM? If it is the case then yes I woulod think your oil pressure is kind of low for a rebuilt...

poularis is right. if its that low when driving then double check some things but if its at 25 at idle then 50 while driving then its perfect. also the initial pressure will be higher than when it warms up because the oil is still cold.

Just run the 10-40 its fine, your oil pressure is normal. I am 50-60 psi cold 25-30 psi warm idle 50+ cruisin. Been like that for awhile in a bomb, you'll be alright

Is it 25psi at idle, or 25PSI when you are on the highway doing 60MPH??

25 PSI at idle is fine. Rule is 10psi per 1000RPM.

Mine runs the same as yours, 50-60PSI at startup, but dips to 25psi once warmed up. As soon as I stab the throttle, it blips up to 55psi or so
