Due to altitude correction on the dyno, (it was dyno'ed at 4000+ ft above sea level) those #s are inflated. It's more like 700+rwhp. Still a badass car, though.

a BOV isn't needed for a S/C, but you can route it that way on purpose to be extra special

all depends on what type of blower you're using, the novi's come with a bov in the kit, all be it a recirculating one, but a bov none the less... you still need to ditch all the boost in the inlet pipe when you slam the throttle plate shut

Can't S/C guys not have BOV's because you can't have air exit the intake between the MAF and engine? Or something like that. Would cause you to run rich because the MAF would tell the injectors more air is coming than actually is... Hell if I know.

you are right on the MAF point yeah, all you have to do is make sureyou have one of the BOVs that dumps the air back in to the atmospheric side of te blower, but after the maf...

centrifugal type blowers like Vortech, Procharger or Paxton can benefit from a bov type device. anytime you close the throttle plate and boost is still in the intake tract a wave of pressure will bounce back and hit the compressor, and can lead to a shorter lifespan of the compressor.

since roots types make boost after the throttle plate, there is no need for that.

as for recirculated verses atmospheric dump, it all depends on the maf placement. a blow-through maf setup you can dump the bov into the atmosphere, since the only metered air is exactly what will be going into the motor. if the maf is in a suck-through, than the bov must dump back into the intake pre-boost source (IE before the compressor), since that air is already metered, losing it into the atmosphere would make you run uber rich during deceleration and shifts.

i dont think this is right.

higher altitude means less dense air, less oxygen. if its tuned and making 900hp up there, and he brings it down to sea level, the extra oxygen and air density will bring him to around the 1000hp level on the same setup (though tuned for the added air density and oxygen content).

this is also why it takes more to make that number the higher you go. same with something like the pikes peak hill climb, the higher they go, the less power they make, even with variable tunes that compensate for the altitude, they still make less up top than they did at the bottom.

Yeah but the correction is to bring it to what it would have for HP at sea level. This is the only way you can compare a sea level pull to a non sea level pull.
