92 5.0 wont rev over 3.5k

i can not figure out the issue with my car..it wont rev over 3.5k...its like there is a rev limiter and the fuel is cutting out. any ideas what this could be or anyone have similar problems...fuel pressure regulator?

Pull codes.

If none are present, consider that the ignition has an issue (like a bad TFI or weak coil).

You don't run platinum plugs do you?

has codes for emissions bc i have no egr or air pump, a weak coil could be an issue ill check the voltage...and no platinum plugs...the other thing that keeps playing in my mind is that i bought a used hypertech chip and now this issure has arrived...i took the chip out and still the same issue..thanks for anybodys input

is it not revving above 3500 in neutral or is this with the car in drive under a load?

ok i put a fuel pressure gauge on it today...it was at 32 psi..and it would drop to 12 or so when it wouldnt rev. so i would say fuelpressure regulator...but i have a few firends that say it coulb fuel pump too...what does anyone think

I would say its your fuel pump, but I would always start with the cheaper stuff first ie fuel filter, regulator and if that doesnt fix it th go to your fuel pump. most of the time if the filter is clogged it will have a rough idle under a load or at idle. hope it helps.
