What tells the fuel pump to shut off after priming? When I cycle the key on, The pump turns on and never shuts off. Bad pump?
1992 mustang GT 5.0
Will fire /Run on starting fluid
has spark, correct plug order
Ignition switch replaced
Has 40 or so psi at the rail
Injectors are getting 12v off the red wire
Has plenty of fuel in tank
Inertia switch is not tripped.
swapped fuel pump relay with the other right next to it same effect.
No blown fuses
Tried removing that ‘spout’ off the PIP off the alternator and that had no effect.
the plugs don’t smell of gas.
just because it has PSI at the rail does that mean it’s actually giving it fuel?
Not usually a ford guy, don’t beat me up too bad, I tired running through other threads troubleshooting but nobody had the fuel pump staying on after priming issues.
