I also saw that pop up, that might be the coolest retro radio I've seen. I'm still happy with my purchase, this doesn't come out until october... might go for it in a year or two.

Looks like the Pioneer unit won’t be available until fall. The only hard info I could find on it is pioneer.eu. Surely it’ll be available in the US .

I purchased an OEM 90 Premium Sound cassette radio that had an Aux-In jack wired up in 2019 on eBay from user haydaze81. He does auto radio modifications across all makes. This was before the Bluetooth add-ons were popular. I recently swapped in a 1990 F150 AM/FM (no cassette) single DIN radio to which he added Bluetooth and an Aux-In jack. The new radio came in at $260, which is in your budget.
The new radio was part of a larger upgrade which included removing the factory premium sound amplifier, adding a Sony Class D amplifier under the passenger seat, and throwing in fresh speakers. My goal was to stream Sirius via Bluetooth and use the Aux-In jack for my old school iPod.
Todd Lane also does similar modifications, and he frequents the FB groups.

Todd lane did my radio. Easy process, I opted for the additional RCA connections as well. Those don’t look great but I’ll figure that out later at some point. Guess it will all be hidden anyways.
I really like that Pioneer. Also like the Blaupunkt. I'm gonna snag one next winter when I do the interior. I use this now:
It's kinda cool getting that tactile feel of putting the cassette in. But it is kinda noisy while it's spinning. Also the re chargeable batter doesn't last long. I've been wanting something a little better but don't really like the modern blinky blink stuff out there. These retro radios are awesome!

Gkomo you stated a membereretrofits the stock radio with Bluetooth. Which member is it I have my stock 89 and would love Bluetooth

My path is a JL Audio MBT-RX to an amp under the passenger seat to the speaker wiring harness behind the dash, bypassing the radio and the factory amp. Keep the stock radio for the clock and the backlighting when the lights are on. Second place goes to a bluetooth factory unit. The nice thing about the JL Audio bluetooth to amp deal is that you get better sound from an amp and the factory radio will crap out one day so I don't want to rely on it.
What shifter are you using? That angle is identical to my 2022 Challenger widebody scat pack with the Tremec TR-6060. That’s an awesome grab angle in my opinion!

I tracked down my high school head unit (JVC el chameleon 111) which can just be all one color displaying the time or station or track with all other buttons and knobs hidden (sick

Wanted to give an update. The radio I purchased got to the Bay Area in 1 week, I was very impressed by that shipping time. Over the weekend I finally installed it, it is working great. Does seem like the rear gets really hot, I’m assuming that is due to having the original alternator? 130A is on my to do list. Here is a picture for fitment, isn’t fully clipped in but works for now.
As for the wiring, took me about 2 hours, it’s been a while since I’ve done one of these and also had to convert the wires from the previous 10+ yr old setup. Just matched up the colors to the provided harnesses, plugged in power and it worked
