OK guys

A fellow by the name of Walt is working on a tutorial for tuning our cars with the Tweecer. He has a good grasp on the workings of our (94-95) car's pcm as he has a 94-95 Stang himself. Lots of good info on adaptive strategy, maf transfer, injectors, idle issues and more are talked about. This is a word file and it is a work in progress or a first draft.

The info is valuable even if you have no intrest in self tuning as you can get an idea of how your car's pcm uses it's sensors to arrive at it's final tune for any given moment in closed or open loop.

The good thing about this info is you don't have to spend a lot of time reading about fox body or EEC V stuff that does not pertain to our cars.

The info is on the Yahoo Tweecer site in the files section in the documentation folder and the file name is EEC Tutoral Op1.doc with the creator being walt6076

I would also like to thank you for all the help I see you give on the tweecer forums, along with Clint and everyone else there. I cannot stress how much these people help others on that site and how nice it is to get answers to confusing questions even easy ones for a newb like me.

Lots of folks on this forum and others have helped me and I do try to help when I can.

As for the Tweecer thing, most of the time I think I know more of what does not work than what does

Good info! I am looking for a tutorial on timing graphs. I want to change them and I don't know exactly what I'm doing... it's been MONTHS since I messed with my eec tuner at all. Is there anywhere I can go and look?

I'll tell you what has worked for me and others.

I modify the two rows of greatest load in the spark table so that the total amount of spark is in place by 2500 rpm. With aluminum heads, 36 degrees total give or take a few degrees for total amount. Each combo will vary it go's without saying.

However

A few weeks ago Tom Moss, a guy that I always like to see what he has to say, replied back in a thread where spark was the topic of discussion. I don't remember all the details but the jest of it was that he had seen on dyno results by pullling back a bit of spark in the higher rpms made more power.

The tip in spark retard makes a big difference also. On our cars unlike the fox bodies, the value is the least amount that the pcm will pull the spark down to. I'm using 36*

You could always look at some of the other guys bin files on the Yahoo EEC Tuner site to see how they changed their spark tables also.

thanks man, my neighbor just got the trick flow heads cam intake on his 95

he also has tweecer. we went to the track wednesday and i said "you will run a 13.5 at 103 if you hook up" Well he ran a 13.7 at 103.

I would like to help him out and go through the tweecer to set it up and get the car in the 12s.

Looking for some one to help with some tunning questions. I have a 1990 mustang with a 331, car hade a A9L ECU with a chip in it. The computer quit yesterday, took another ECU out of my 95 put it in and the car started but runs very bad with the chip in it, what is the best factor ECU in a race engine, and could i programe it my self.

The 95 is not a A9L...

As Adam said, if you have an aero fox with an A9L, you should stick with an A9* series EEC.
