94-98 Headlight write-up

My friend is having trouble installing his new headlights on
his 97 GT.Does anyone have a good write up on how to
install 94-98 Ford Mustang headlights? Thanks.

The hardest part of this install is the clips that hold the screws into place. You have to be able to push in the releases on both sides of the clips at the same time, which is very difficult due to limited space. The Haynes manual says to use some type of pliers, but that is just about impossible. I used a very small flat-head screw-driver to push in one release at a time, and it was very difficult. Also, I ended up breaking one of the clips. Don't worry about that though. If he can just get the stock lamps out, putting the new ones in is the easy part. Tell him to take the stock screws/clips off of the stock lamps and put them on the new ones if he doesn't break them. That will save him a lot of time adjusting them.

ive heard you can use an open end wrench... i monkeyd around with pliers and got em out that way

After messing with it for some time he finally got his
new headlights installed.He said that didn't break any
of the clips fortunately.Thanks for the help guys I
appreciate it.
