Do all cars come from the factory with all the wiring for the rear defroster even if they didnt come with the rear defrost option? My 94 GT Vert has no rear defroster switch, it has a plastic plate where the switch would be but yet it has the defroster lines in the back window. The metal tabs are not hooked up to anything. I dont know whats going on. Could I easily convert the car to have rear defroster if it didnt come from the factory with it? Thanks

Hmmmm...I test drove a convertible gt 95 (before I bought my current one) yrs ago, and it didnt have a rear defroster. It didn't have the lines in the rear winshield for defrost. I don't know if they used the same rear windo on defrost and non defrost hard top cars but it cost much more for rear defrost windows so I would assume the rear non-defrost hard top windows wouldent have lines either. In you case maybe somebody broke your rear and it was replaced with a junk yard rear from a car with a defroster Only thing I can think of. Someone with a no rear defrost hardtop will chime in hopefully.

well, I found evidence that the rear window was replaced becuase I found Broken glass in the back when I took the back seat out. So mabye they just through a rear defrost window in. Also, the car is from florida so its even more unlikely that it had rear defrost in it. The ultimate question now is can I easily add rear defrost or would I have to run all the factory wires? If the wiring is already there, then it would be easy.
