Hey Guys,

I'm a first tiem stang owner, and just purchased a '94 mustang gt, which is mostly stock (as far as I know). I'll be the third owner, apparantly the first owner did some minor engine mods to boost performance, and both previous owners raced cars proffessionally at one point (the car is not bagged, and is in great condition). It has a new clutch, exhaust, and cooling system (the A/C needs a pulley though) and I guess w/e mods the first owner did. I've been reading the forums and the stock T-5 tranny appears to be something everyone cringes at.

It will be mostly a daily driver, but I plan to do some mods in the future, it has 158,000km on it atm. Is this a time bomb waiting to go...what's the deal with the T5 (got me a bit worried here, heh).

thanks

PS: hope I don't sound too much like a noob above

the longevity of the t5 is all in how you drive it. hard launches on sticky tires and powershifting are the two main things that spell doom for the t5. my t5 has been put through many hard miles on a car making 400hp and 400lb/ft to the wheels and has held up just fine. however, i dont launch the car hard and all my shifts are made while letting off the gas. as i said, the life of the t5 is all decided by how the car is driven.
