My clutch is smelling a little so I think Ill upgrade.. I ahve stock now and I think a stage 2 will be sufficient for me. Any affordable suggestions ?( I seen some online for like 1200$)(No thanks...lol)

I always like a King Cobra for a near stock car. Very little pedal effort and very smooth.

I run the king cobra its handled everything ive thrown at it. How ever the dual center force is a great clutch to. If youve seen my motor build thread im going to upgrade to a spec stage 2 with an aluminum flywheel. Alot of people run that spec stage 2 as well.
also for a street car id rec not going past a stage 2 clutch.

I strongly recommend against the Centerforce. Not to mention, it's double the money of a King Cobra.

Really my buddys got one in his fox and he is pretty happy with it?
But kurt has a good point with the price. So the best bang for your buck would be the king cobra. Sorry i dident see that you said affordable, but what is affordable to you?

Thanks for the input everyone... I looked at the center force also and I like it but it is a lil expensive ... Ill try to budget a little more for a clutch

The Centerforce is way too much for a stock clutch, lol. You can get a stock clutch much cheaper elsewhere.

Do you have any mods? if so what are they? In my opinon i think the king cobra would be perfect for you.And it will hold up to some modding in the future If you choose to.

I always try to pick components that will be stronger than what i need that way i ensure i don't have to do the job twice and that will add up to alot more money pay now or pay later. I used a centerforce dual friction clutch on my stock 1994 Mustang GT and then a year later added a Kenne Bell super charger and the clutch work flawlessly.

Really like my KC clutch. Nice pedal and it was stronger than my axles so good enough for near stock up to 300# rwhp.

Not sure whats too much money but the centerforce came in at just under $400 i think that's pretty good and i think it's rated to 400 hp what does the King Cobra clutch handle?

I went out on a limb and tried the sve mongoose clutch offered by LRS, and I have to say its really holding up well, no slip or anything, so for the price its great for a daily driver with some spirited runs, but not sure how well it will hold under some spray or a charger

FRPP discontinued the M-7560-C302N last year, so anyone claiming to sell a King Cobra clutch is either working off of old stock, or is straight up lying to you. The last retail price on the kit was $279.99.

The reason we introduced the SVE Mongoose Clutch was to fill the void left by the rising price & ultimate discontinuation of the King Cobra clutch. The specifications of the SVE clutch are identical to those of the King Cobra, only the manufacturer is different.

The Mongoose clutch offers great pedal feel & will hold up to 350 wheel horsepower on street tires & up to 300 on drag radials. The use of slicks with this clutch will void the 30 day warranty. The kit includes the pressure plate & disc, release bearing, pilot bearing, & an alignment tool.

For a Mustang with a few bolt ons that needs more than a stock clutch, the Mongoose will fit the bill just fine & not empty your wallet!
